Beautiful !

My school this week was featuring a student artist who basically did a bunch of these sumi-e paintings of bamboo. I've always liked the traditional sumi-e paintings, but have never found artists who painted them to try to study from.

I do love this painting. The sparrows look so cheery, and it just has a light feel to it. I wish I could offer crits but I'm not too knowledgable with the style, so I'll just leave it at I find it beautiful

These are my favourite colours and I love sumi-e Sparrows are so often overlooked for prettier birds, it's nice to see them appreciated.

Wow; the shading is absolutely flawless; it really makes it look like a piece you'd find hanging in a Japanese palace or something! ^^ The sparrows look weightless and beautiful. They really are simple birds but in a piece like this, where everything is supposed to look uncomplicated, they are absolutely beautiful.

Gorgeous in its minimalism

wow this is a beautiful piece, I love the simplicity. I'm not really familiar with this style, but from your work I have to say I really like it!
